Prompt Engineering For Puzzle Book Designers: Why I Retired the Book

When I wrote Prompt Engineering For Puzzle Book Designers, prompt craft was a genuine skill gap for creators working with AI. Getting useful output required careful construction, specific syntax, and a lot of trial and error. The book addressed that directly.

That gap has closed. Modern AI models—particularly the ones most of us are using in 2026—handle context and intent well enough that the techniques in the book are either built-in defaults or no longer necessary. I'd rather tell you that plainly than leave the material sitting on your shelf as if it still applies.

If you want to follow what I'm working on now, my puzzle newsletter is still running right here. No curriculum, no course—just a bi-weekly showcase of printable puzzles, web apps, and online games.
